transfer 2010

Um i want to apply to the uconn as a transfer student in the fall of 2010. I am currently going to attend Bryant University to study business law Major in accounting minor in legal stuides. First semester of freshman year i am taking mathematics of finance, introduction to business, Intro to liberal arts, introduction to global politics, introductiont to college ( easy class) and micro economics this totals out to 16 credits. I plan on dropping intro to global politics so that i can have 5 classes and study for 4. I'll be under the requirement for Bryant but im more worried about getting good grades. In high school i didn't get good results till senior year because i finally was able to figure out what worked for me and what didn't. Fresh-sophmore year i got overall averages ranged from 85-89 but senior year my averages is 89-95. No one told me what to do since i never had someone to ask. But now i know what works for me. I didn't get good sats either so that might hurt my chances. If i get above a 3.5 gpa in college would university of delaware be a good choice and if so would dropping introduction to global politcs be better for me or worse. O and also i got accepted to uconn but not the mainc ampus to

I had a very hard time following your post, so I will try to answer as best as I can. If you want to transfer to UConn you should take courses that fulfill general education requirements and Major requirements before transferring, so that when you enter you can jump right into your major. Look at UConn's requirements, and contact Admissions about this for more information about transferring credit and requirements. You need to have a good college GPA (at least a 3.3 for the main campus) and you need to have decent SAT/ACT scores. Your high school record will also be considered, so if you do not have a good high school record (less than 3.0 for out of state) then you need to do exceptionally well in college.

As a recommendation, I would advise you to write in concise sentences both here, and with your application. Also, I'm not sure where your statement regarding the University of Delaware comes in.

sry its that im considering all colleges so i went into the ud site and wrote the samething there and i didn't want to rewrite it and pasted the same thing here and i guess i didn't check all my mistakes. Um im instate and got a 1600 sats out of 2400 but had some medical problems to junior year. I have a 85-88 gpa overall but i got good grades senior year and im taking 5 classes freshman year at bryant

If you're in-state, you need to get at least a 3.5 to safely get it. And you may need to transfer after two years of study at Bryant.

Again, I would encourage you to fulfill some general education / major requirements prior to applying for transfer admission to UConn.

um ya im in-state and i want to try after 1 year because bryant is expensive. Do you think if i get around a 3.5 i can get in

You can't bump expecting an instant response, you know...

But yes, I think with a 3.5 you will get in, assuming your SAT scores were reasonable.

they were 1580 but i had medical problem junior year i got accepted but into the west hartford campus.

1580 out of 2400? That's pretty low. If you can get a higher score on a retake, then perhaps you should do that.

You can definitely retake it during college. If you want to transfer after one year, you will need to either get a 3.5 or higher (3.6 to be safe), or retake the SATs and get higher scores (at least 1800s) and get at least a 3.3.

i dont plan on taking the sats because i want to focus on school and getting above a 3.5 gpa. So you believe that if i get above a 3.5 gpa that i can transfer to uconn since im instate

yes. although that would still leave you on the edge. 3.5 probably, 3.6 almost definitely.

k thank you actually im going to aim for a perfect 4.0 because thats my ultimate goal.
