| Chances for instate URM
My sister is applying to UConn this Fall, I didn't a few years ago, because it was too big for my learning style. She is interested in Bio and English. Her SAT/ACT scores so far are mediocore with math really pulling her scores down, but mainly it has to do with anxiety and keeping concentration for 4 hours. She does well in school, mostly A's and got mostly 4 and 5's on AP's (one 3) She does 3 EC's and has an internship at Yale.
My question is how will lower SAT scores be perceived by UConn if all other things are okay? Her last ACT was 24 (she's taking again this month) and her SAT was a 500 in Math and over 600 in one score and 580 in another. She is retaking that next week. She was sick and missed one test date last Spring. SAT subjects were in low 600's.
Any thoughts? She's worried but didn't want to ask about it on her tour, she felt embarassed.
Thanks!
