Chances?

Hi, I'm considering UCONN to be my safety. I am an instate asian male who goes to one of the top public schools in CT. I will be applying EA. My question is how secure is UCONN as my safety? Thanks

GPA: 3.5(weighted) 4.0(unweighted)
Top 15% of class
SAT I: 770(Math) 690(CR) 680(W) Total-2140
SAT IIs: 710(American History) 620(English lit: retaking this November)

12 Honors/AP courses taken in high school by time of graduation

AP History-5, AP English Lit(3 ugh I'm really bad at the lit standardized tests)

ECs:
Allstate+region concert band
Member of county Youth orchestra
Section Leader of school band
100+ hours of community service
School Newspaper writer
National French Honors Society
VP of school's writing club

I would really appreciate some feedback. Also, I plan to declare English/philosophy as my major.

First off, I like your username.

Secondly: You have an excellent chance of admittance.

Thirdly: I recommend the Philosophy major wholeheartedly.

Thank you very much. =D But what do you think of the disparity between my english and math scores. On my transcript, english has consistently without a doubt been my top class throughout high school. However, I struggle in standardized tests because my english classes have been geared towards class discussions rather than multiple choice tests. For uconn, i think my sats are far enough above the threshold that this will not matter, but for more selective schools such as my reaches(Vassar, Oberlin, Bates) will this detract enough from my application to make it look undesirable? Also, especially since I'll be applying as a English/Philosophy major to my reaches.
I have one more question, is it easier to get into my reaches by declaring english or philosophy? I would think that english is a far more common major, thus philosophy is easier to get in. But, as philosophy is a smaller major for most schools their "seats" fill up quicker.

Again, thanks for the help.

The disparity between your scores isn't that concerning, at least not for UConn. I can't comment on other schools you have listed.

As for which major to declare, it doesn't matter in itself, only that you have demonstrated interest in the subject. But, again, I cannot comment on the other schools you have listed.
