Underbed storage

I'm gonna be rooming in Russell C, and I was wondering how high the beds are already. I got bed risers that add about 7 inches, but I only bought one under bed box thats only about 6 inches high. I realize this is a bit specific but could anyone tell me if I could fit about two of those boxes on top of each other? Or just share what you used for under your bed.
Thanks!

It is my understanding that all of the beds can be risen to 24 inches and if you use your risers, you will have lots of room under the bed . The height of our 2 underbed storage boxes are approximately 19 inches. My daughter who will be a Freshman and is in George Read said to go to UDel website, housing, click on your dorm, floor and room, you will get information about the room. Good luck.

Do you need to order stuff to raise the beds or is it adjustable with the bed as it is in the room? I looked on the Udel site and they link you to a site which charges $139 for a lofting system, but that raises it very high up.

The lofting system that you mentioned raises the bed high enough that you could put your desk under it, freeing up floor space for other things. My son and his roommate did this in Russell his freshman year. They put their beds and desks in the back rectangle, and used the front rectangle as a little sitting area with 2 chairs, floor lamp and TV.

Last year he used bed risers which raised his bed enough to put nice storage boxes from the Container Store.

Well this isn't going to engineer-precise, but beds in D's room were lofted 6"-8" and the cutdown bookcase she pushed under her bed was 29" tall.

Mattmoosemom, my son and his roommate are apparently going to do the same thing, moving both beds to the back area and putting the TV and other stuff in the front.

To misterbill

I hope the room arrangement works out as well for your son as it did for mine!

Well, it better, or there won't be any place to play Wii!
