Hanging a bulletin board or larger wipe board?

I know the kids are only supposed to use poster putty for posters. How does someone hang a bulletin board or similarly heavy thing? Or you just can't - you have to lean it?

Or, are there really light products that can be hung?

This is in Russell, by the way.

Thanks!

If I recall correctly, there is a painted board that runs along the top of both side walls. Put a couple small nails in it, and run wires down to support heavier items like bulletin boards. Lighting is a bigger problem. D tried several approaches ... none was really satisfactory.

Thanks New Hope - I looked at so many dorms at UD, I could not remember if there was anything you could nail into in Russell. We will bring nails and wires and hope for the best.

will keep in mind the lighting issue...we got a floor lamp that has 5 adjustable lamps on it, have a desk lamp, and a lamp for the dresser. Have another floor lamp that we may now bring as additional lighting.

Just a follow up for anyone who is interested in the future...in my daughter's dorm in Russell (A), there was nothing to nail into to hang anything from. We had brought light weight cork tiles and they are working with poster putty so far. D will whip out the contraband double sided stick tape if she is desparate.

pumpkin - Sorry for the disappointment. Before posting I did confirm with D that her room had the boards. Perhaps they were removed during the recent renovation?

It is no problem!

Yes, they might have come down when it was renovated. The building was in very nice condition.
