I applied and my sister is a student at DU. I have a question for a freshman though. What is it like in the dorms, sharing the bathrooms with the whole floor?

It's not nearly as bad as you think. There are four showers in each bathroom, and three bathrooms a floor. The three bathrooms are distributed based on the distribution of sex. For example, my floor has two male and one female bathrooms but I know a floor that has one male, one female, and one coed. People clean their mess, and there's a staff that cleans them every morning its really not that bad. BTW, this only what its like in JMac, in Halls there is usually one male and one female bathroom unless its a single-sex floor (only 2/10 are like that in Halls north and south). Hope that helps!

Do you know anyone in the Honors Program? If so, how different would you say is their experience from everyone else's?

Also, does anyone know about when we should get decisions back for early action applicants?

I do have friends in the Honors Program. However, the only difference I can tell after one quarter is that Professors with the better track record are instructing those courses. I was invited into the program after this quarter but doubt I will have any significant different experience until later on in my academic career when I take more hands-on classes (i.e. circuits) as opposed to Physics (one of two honor classes next quarter). Sorry this doesn't help much, but I've been there only one quarter and majoring in engineering doesn't help this situation because I had to take general classes anyway. As for decisions I can't tell because last year the Hyde interview was required while this year it is only strongly encouraged which should cut down on time but then again there are more applicants this year. Good luck!

I have applied to DU and have been admitted with $12000 each year. Recently I received a letter that DU invited me into the honor program.

Is that difficult to compete for a full tuition scholarship?

When did you receive your acceptance - congratulations! Also how did DU inform you - email, letter, online portal?

It should be Oct.30. When just back from Shanghai, I checked my email box and found a informal offer. About 3 days later, I received a formal letter with I-20 form.

I want to know something about the full-tuition scholarship...
