50 inch TV too big?

So for graduation, my brother got me a new 50 inch plasma TV for next year. It's super sick & I love it but will it fit in my dorm?

Which dorm has the most space for me to put it in my room? Anyone know?

We're allowed to bring TVs?!

And I'd assume the apartment type dorms?

S had a 32" TV in Broward and it barely fit on his dresser---it was the biggest on the floor and stuck out a little.

Here is a suggestion: get a measuring tape and measure 10 feet from the tv. Then sit down in front of it. Do you like it?

I have a 50inch tv and 15 feet is the closest I can get to it.

Plus if you do bring it, your room will be the #1 hang out for video games.

^Wait, are you saying that you can't position the TV closer than 15 feet or further due to space? I'm like blind so my TV is not too far from my bed, and when I play video games I have to sit like directly in front of it xD haha.

The distance from the TV doesn't bother me. I'm just worried I'll bring it all the way up to Gville & it won't fit in the dorm room ha

i'd recommend waiting until after you've moved in to make a decision

i brought my 42 inch plasma and it was the perfect size. Any larger and it would just be too much. Also you're dorm WILL probably be the hangout spot. When I first moved in the thought of this sounded cool but it got super annoying after a month. Basically I got annoyed with the more obnoxious floormates who frequented my room.

Bring a saw too just in case it's too big.

Orange! Blue!, where did you stay? Which dorm?

& did you just set it on top of the dresser or buy another stand or how did you put it?

ask your brother if you can exchange it for a 42 incher?

problem solved. 50inch is really too big for a dorm. look up the measurements of the dorms on uf housing and you will see space is very limited.
