I am applying for Political Science with a 3.64 and a 4.0 in prereqs. I am praying to god I get in! But I am not very confident. I don't feel like a 3.64 is high enough to be accepted in Political Science because a lot of people have this major. I also applied to UNF (got in) and FSU. We will see I guess! Good luck everyone!

I'm no longer with much hope of getting into UF for spring; it seems they're only getting tougher with admissions, but I suppose that's only a good thing. My GPA currently is at 3.43 and what's more, I've applied to the college that I just learned is the most populated, CLAS. I think it wise to send more applications out, I don't think UF & FSU will suffice.

Yeah Henry, I applied to Political Science, which is in CLAS. I have a 3.64 and 4.0 in prereqs and am not very confident about getting in. Many people that apply have 3.7+ with 4.0 in prereqs. To be honest, and not to sound mean, I don't think you will get in (or will I for that matter). For UF, a 3.5 is generally the cut off for having a chance, but I also know people who got in with lower than that to CLAS, but not many. I would say keep your hopes up, but make sure you applied to other schools like I did (FSU, UNF). I hope we both get in though! But feel we are in the same boat in this one (that we both won't get in).
I have heard from a lot of people that Spring is easier to get into, but I don't know how true that is. Good luck! Keep us updated. Also, from what I understand, the school the poster above me applied to was Accounting or Business, which is REALLY HARD to transfer into. Usually a 3.7+ gets in for that.
Does your application say sent to college for Final decision Henry? And does anyone know how UF calculates GPA for transfer? I know they calculate a different GPA then community college.

I think you have a far greater chance of getting approved. I think a 3.5 is a fair requisite to transfer over to UF; however, like you mentioned, there is a slight chance of getting in with a 3.4, which is why I even bothered. I hoping to have at least a 3.5 before I transfer out to any school, but at the moment all the transcripts I'm sending out have me at 3.4.
No, mines still says: "Once your grade point average is calculated and your eligibility is confirmed, your application will be sent to your college for a final decision."
How long ago did you send it out? I'm very curious to know how long I should have to wait to get a reply.

Is there any difference for the Online business program with Warrington College? Is the 3.7 GPA minimum still in effect?

I submitted my application on the 28 of July (around there). My last transcript was in last Friday. How about you? I remember when I applied for Summer 09, that it said sent to college for a while. Then I got a letter of intent form and had to write two essays. I am pretty sure UF doesn't have rolling admissions (you might want to check that). The deadline for CLAS is Sep. 15, so I don't think any decisions will be sent out till then. I know I didn't get my letter telling me I was denied and to reapply for Spring 2010 until mid-late May (2 months after the deadline). It will probably take a while. The only reason I think we might get it sooner is because less people apply for Spring (from what I've been told). We can both wait in anticipation together! :P Hopefully we both get in!
I have no idea about the business thing, you will want to call the college. I only know about CLAS and Political Science. Even then, I am not sure about everything to do with both.

I'm so anxious. I only recently decided to apply to transfer, and my transcripts arrived to UF yesterday. I'm applying to CALS Biology, and I've got a 3.86 GPA. I'm worried because while I think I have all the prerequisite courses, most of them were from AP credits. I just hope there's a space for me .
Also, do all of the prerequisites have to be completed by the time you apply or just by the end of this Fall semester?

I was told it was by the time you apply. But like I said before, that is just for Political Science. If it was by the time you get there, I would of gone to UF over the past Summer or been denied (without being told to reapply because of prereqs). CLAS might be stricter than CALS because of how large it is. I have no idea. |

To Gatorjv,
I sent mines out only just recently, the 11th of this month. But all the documents were only just received on the 19th. I'm hoping we don't have to wait 2 or more months for a decision; but, maybe not, like you said, there should be a lot fewer applicants. All the same, I have to at least send out another application for another school in the meantime (UNF).

You will get into UNF Henry. I got into UNF and it took a whole day. It isn't the best school around, but it sure isn't the worst either. Plus, I don't think they have many people applying for some reason; Fall admissions were still going on a few weeks ago. I figured for a 3rd school, in case I don't get into UF of FSU, it was a good choice. I like it there better than at USF, but some are the opposite.

I agree with liking UNF better than USF. I also noticed that UNF doesn't get many applicants and also that the largest pool of students there were transfers. However, it doesn't seem like a bad place to be if I don't get in UF or FSU.
