Campus Life

I'm aware that it's a beautiful campus, but how is the life on campus? Is it fratty/preppy, or kind of laid back and relaxed? If so, are most state schools like that?

I think UGA is pretty chill. Our current clothes fad (for girls at least) is t-shirts and sports shorts. Everyone looks like they're about to go work out. It depends what crowd you hang out in how fratty/preppy it is, but I think in general, UGA is pretty chill. I don't know how it compares to other state schools. I've heard from others that it's not as uptight as Tech, but I don't have any personal experiences.

There are a lot of things to get involved in and a lot of people to meet, so you're bound to find your niche eventually.

There are a good number of frat boys, but it's no where near a majority (only about 20% of the population are in greek orgs in general). It's definitely really easy to get away from the Greek scene if you want to be.
