opportunity

does UGA open a lot of doors for internships and jobs??? I am particularly interested in majoring in Finance/Political Science. Do companies in or around Athens (also in Atlanta) actively recruit UGA students or do Emory students get offered the majority of jobs and internships??

SPIA (political science, public affairs, international relations) has a very solid reputation here. I know several people interning in various places in Atlanta this semester. We also have the Honors in Washington program. It seems like people are landing decent jobs out of SPIA. I can't speak to much about finance/business, although someone in another thread mentioned that Money Magazine (I think this is the correct publication) listed UGA as one of the top business schools with regards to recruiting. Athens, though, is still a ways from ATL so it sometimes requires being a little proactive (in terms of getting a job/internship) on your part.

UGA is pretty much a numbers game. Be persistent. ALot of the high SAT people go else where...if you can get your SAT up say about 1400 and take AP classes you are 96% in
they told me that in honors academy at uga last summer.
