Merit Scholarships

Are there any merit scholarships available for current undergrads that aren't fellowship or ramsey?

Well, technically the HOPE is a merit scholarship. If you're in-state and have a GPA above 3.0, your tuition is automatically free.

There's the Charter, which is given to "approximately 250 incoming first-year students for demonstrated outstanding achievement in academics and criteria reflecting the Philosophy Statement for Undergraduate Admissions." If you're in-state, you get $1000 per year on top of the HOPE; if you're out-of-state, you get that $1000 plus either all tuition off or half off.

There's a few other, more specific ones, too, but most of these are only for in-state students.

More information about all of them here.

You can get the Governor's Scholarship if you're in state and were a STAR student or Val. I wasn't told this till... a few weeks ago, so it's a rather annoyingly kept secret. It's 900 dollars a year.

There's the Robert C. Byrd scholarship... that depends on SAT scores, GPA, and an essay. I think it may be one person from each county gets that but I honestly can't remember with the numbers are and I'm to lazy to check GAcollege411
