Nick,

If you are talking about "admissions averages" for University of Hartford, here is some of what you may be asking about:

66% overall acceptance rate to the University
69% come from out of state
mid SAT ranges: CR 480-580, M 490-580, CR/M combined 970-1170, mid ACT 21-25

Hartt Admissions (College Rep) gave you the acceptance rate for the BFA program. (120 admitted out of 400 who audition for MT and Acting)

As a musical theatre major, are you allowed to minor outside of the Hartt school (in something totally unrelated, like Communications)? Thanks!

I talked a very nice and informative lady from the theatre dept of Hartt. She said that many times MT majors take so many liberal arts as well as arts classes that with a few more classes many of the graduates leave with a minor in English. She was also excited about the new building that will be in use as of autumn 2008. It combines many of the performing arts areas that have been spread throughout the campus on previous years.

Does anyone know of MT working alumni from Hartt. I know they have a great program but not much info from the website on this topic.

I know the Hartt school has the BEST voice teachers, but how good are the theatre teachers?

I've heard someone say going to Hartt is like paying money to perform because that is all you ever do and you dont learn anything.

I really would like to attend Hartt

I'd say by the list above of working alumni that the students must be learning a bit more than vocal technics. These are just the recent graduates. I appreciate getting an answer from a Hartt college rep on this subject instead of rumors from other posters. To me it is always important to know how successful former students are. It would be nice to here from a current student on their opinion of the theatre teachers.
