Iowa City

Never really knew that Iowa City was a great college town, was looking at reviews on how it is one of the best. Also notice many statements on how cleverly the campus and city are intermix but still distinct.

So basically due to the possibility of me attending the school next year, how is the city and campus? Anything you think I'm interested in knowing simply post.

It is a Big Ten college town--hip, urbane, tolerant, genteel, and cosmopolitan. It is not big-once you leave Iowa City you are in the middle of the corn belt. For a town of 63,000 it has a surprising amount of cultural activities. The downtown area has a brick pedestrian walkway lined with shops, restaurants, and coffeeshops. It has a pretty good series of concerts and art events. It has a good number of parks. As a Big Ten school, sports are big, especially football and basketball, but also wrestling.
