Anybody know bout KU academics????

I am from a nearby city and I have heard that Lawrence is a great college town, but i don't often hear about the academic side...............Is KU a University with any prestige after college when lookin for a job, or is it just viewed as another huge university completely focused on partying? KU will be my school next year if i cant afford out of state tuition to University of Michigan or University of Florida. Just wonderin if anybody had any knowledge on this topic.........thx

Don't listen to "barrons", because he simply doesn't know what he's talking about. We have a good business school, and our journalism school is ranked among the best in the country (Top 10 in 1996, wihch was the last year they ranked journalism). Yes, our basketball has prestige, but it does not end there. KU is what you make of it, like other large state schools.

I read on the KU website that it was voted 30th in the top pretigious public institutions in the nation. I have been a lot of research on MU vs. KU because i have been inquiring both. KU is the just like the mizzou of kansas and its cheaper and it is more pretigious. Mizzou just a notorious party school and businesses know that. Although both are great schools
