Ellicott Hall vs LaPlatta

Any input on these two dorms would be appreciated. I am OOS so I am not familiar with any of the housing on campus. Information about size, location...would be great.

Well, you won't get to pick your dorm as a freshman. They are literally twenty feet apart...so no difference there. Ellicott is the Gemstone dorm, LaPlata is a party dorm for mostly freshman (it might be air conditioned but I'm not sure). Both will give you a room smaller than most jail cells.

Thank you....I was accepted to Honors so based on what honors program I pick (or get accepted to) will determine what dorm I get. You are correct LaPlata has AC.

Gemstone freshmen have historically been put in Ellicott and Honors freshmen in Denton. Those are most likely your options, unless you choose one of the very specific programs that have housing elsewhere. Gina is correct, LaPlata is usually filled with returning sophomores. Since the ILS living/learning program says it's going to accept 75-80 students, those rooms will be blocked off.
