Maximus,
We know kids who have turned down similar schools to take the B/K and have been very happy. The honors advisors are great about getting B/K kids into accelerated courses if they want them and helping to navigate the red tape and bureaucracy that is sometimes part of a big school. UMD is also very generous with AP credit and placement testing. Congrats to your S and good luck making a decision!

flowersunshine, you may be right. I have now heard that they'll be announced around April 1st. I guess patience is a virtue.

For all who don't get the full B/K.....remember, you are still part of a very select few and should be extremely proud of your accomplishments!

I got the partial. If I got the full, would I have got the dorm even if I never used it (I would commute from home) or would they not allow it? Could I also use the meal plan without living there?

If not, then the partial and full B/K is exactly the same for me. I am in-state and my mom's profession gives a dollar amount which makes up for the rest of the tuition not covered by the partial B/K.

I was surprised myself. It seems to be a relatively new thing colleges are trying to hook students with. Maryland's not the only one. If its not ipods its laptops or something else. And its usually Apple products.

-Mock Trial: president junior and senior year, all star witness, all star attorney, as junior and senior i have been lead attorney for prosecution and defense

As long as you submit Part 1 by 11/1 and Part 2 by 12/1 (check the website in case the dates have changed) you will be automatically considered for B/K.

Maryland loves giving out merit $$ and B/K is a great deal.
