Favorite Honors Seminars and Professors

What were your favorite honors seminars and professors and why? I'm going to be a freshman in the Honors program this fall and I'm hoping to find out more information.

I'd also like to know. Specifically in the areas of economics, philosophy, and political philosophy.

HONR289Y - Novels and Who We Are, heck any literature class with Dr. Sibbie O'Sullivan
HONR248H - it's a class about delinquency and mental illness with Dr. Peter Leone...very interesting; counts for two CORE requirements

I hear HONR217 - Life, The Multiverse and Everything: Developing an Individual Cosmovision is a fun class.

There's a facebook group called "honors seminars" that you could look at.

My all-time favorite (not offered every semester): HONR268T - The Great Gatsby and American Culture with Dr. Cathy Barks. Everything about this course from the professor to the readings and the projects and discussion was wonderful.

HONR208W - Ghosts and Magicians in Performance with Dr. David Schlossman -- lit class, takes a good look at the history of urban legends, "scary stories", etc. Materials ranged from Hamlet to an excerpt from The Crucible to the movie The Sixth Sense.

I wish I'd had time to take more!! There are so many on the list that sound great.

Yeah I hear Dr. Barks is awesome. I think it's offered in the fall semester.

honr238t: the body and literature - Sibbie O'Sullivan

I would take anything with Sibbie. She's pretty awesome. Take note though. If you suck at writing you probably won't get an A. I got a B, but I would definitely take the class again. It was that much fun.
