I actually knew about this page a while before orientation and thought it would be useful and wondered why UMCP didnt make it more well known but they have their own official version called Venus on Testudo that's exactly the same and it will only show schedules with classes that are still open. you can also change you schedule much easier through Venus than through OurUMD.
I like OurUmd better because you can add classes to your sample schedule 1 at a time instead of all at once, allowing you to build schedules around a certain section that you need. You can also see grade distributions for past sections of the course and of the professor. The University doesn't advertise it more because it's not an official University of Maryland website.
