I got wait-listed as well. I found out from the application status page on the 18th and just got my letter today. I'm going to wait out the wait-list and take spring 09. And if I get in for the fall semester my other school's deposit is only $50 so it's not a huge deal.

For anyone else thinking about waiting it out, I called the school the other day and the waitlist consists of about 3,000 people, 10% of the applicants. They don't expect to grant a lot of new fall 08 admissions and we'll start to hear in late may, which in UMass terms is probably mid-June.

Wondering if anyone here can help me out because I'm sure it will take Amherst forever to get back to me. When I sent out my transfer application package it included my official academic transcript from my college. However, on my application status page, under transcripts it states; type: In Progress and received?: No. Anyone have any ideas why?

Im so surprised that UMass is becoming so competitive.

I got in last year but it was one of my backups. I had about a 3.7 UW and 4.2 W from a the best public hs in my county with a pretty rigorous course load. My SATs and ACTs were about 26-28 and 1180-1250. Surprisingly I was denied by UConn though but accepted to other fine schools in Florida and Maryland, Washington and waitlisted at UVA.
