Has anyone gotten his/her rejection letter already from U of Miami? We know my D won't be getting in because of her SAT's, but we haven't gotten the letter yet. Just wondering if it was lost in the mail or if they hadn't sent them all out yet...

I still haven't gotten a letter yet, but my friend, who lives 2 streets away has. I can't imagine it should come any later than Friday.

I haven't gotten one...

but since four boys on this site have gotten in, and they only accept 4 boys, I'm guessing that I didn't get in...

I haven't gotten mine either, but I think the 4 boys thing isn't accurate. My friend who got his letter got in, so there's one more already. Maybe they are taking more this year? But its not looking good for me because I doubt they are going to take more than one person from the same school...

Mail came today, still no letter. Isn't the last day they can mail them April 1?

For anyone who still hasn't received their letter, I called the admissions office and they said that everyone should have their letters by Saturday and that they were still mailing them. Don't all schools have to mail by the 1st, though?

Does anyone know if it's at all likely for a waitlisted person to get accepted for mt?

Count me in for also not receiving my letter. I called and they were incredibly unhelpful. It is getting ridiculous.

Between this thread and another one, which was about Ithaca....I find it really incredible that these schools did not notify in and around April 1. It is April 16! The National Reply Date is May 1 ! How can any student equally consider an offer from UMiami (or any other school who hasn't yet notified) with their other offers? A student should be deciding around now with all their cards on the table. It is wise to also go back for accepted student events to help make that final decision. If UMiami (or these other schools) want the accepted students to actually enroll, they are not helping their case because they won't be considered equally when by now students have to really consider their options and enroll. Until I read these couple of threads, I was unaware that colleges (unless rolling) hadn't yet sent out decisions. I think students deserve to learn of acceptance, denial or waitlist several weeks before their replies are due at colleges.

Called admissions again, they told me to call if I didn't get my letter by Saturday. They finally asked for my name and then they told me that they hadn't received any of my scores yet. I called my high school and they said it was an error on their part and faxed them over. This could have been resolved a week ago if they just would have ASKED WHO I WAS! On a side note, they did say that they were still sending letters out.

Talent Awards

Has anyone received any notification from Univ. of Miami musical theatre department for talent awards? Do they even offer them or just offer the financial aid from regular admissions?
