This is all for people who applied EA, correct? Because I applied RA and still haven't even heard back from LSA. When should I expect my Ross preadmit decision?

I went to campus day at mich and the Ross info sesh there, and We were told that they were sending them out in batches. Like as in some people hear next week, then the week after, etc. till April 1st

I had no idea that they came out, until a few kids at school asked me. Turned out two people had already been accepted (they didn't have any business ECs, so don't worry). Then I went on my email and this is what I got:

The BBA Admissions Committee at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business has conducted a review of your application for Preferred Admission. You are to be commended on your many academic and personal achievements.

We have received over 1,500 applications from outstanding students that are competing to be selected as one of one hundred Preferred Admission students this fall, thus making for an extremely competitive process. At this time your application remains under consideration within our active candidate pool as we continue identifying the top candidates. We do not require any additional information from you. You will receive a final admission decision as soon as possible but no later than April 13.

Admissions says they are still evaluating the applications. It is just a notice to let the students know what it happening....

Yes...called Admissions today.

Just called admissions as well. I was notified of the same information as karendude. The lady said they just need more time to evaluate applicants because of the unexpectedly large number of applicants. I'm not sure why they would email us saying this if people already started receiving acceptance letters though. Perhaps it's just a nice way of communicating a rejection?

I am thinking the same thing since some people were already admitted. Maybe they are waiting to see if anyone drops after the the RD decisions come in. Then they can offer the spots to those people who got the email today. I wonder if everyone who applied to Ross got the email....

I doubt Ross would bother sending you an email like that if they seriously weren't interested in you anymore. I think the email is just to let applicants know that they're still under consideration so that applicants won't lose all interest in Ross, start thinking about other options, and decide not to attend UMich when they're suddenly admitted a few weeks from now.

I applied EA somewhere other than UMich and was deferred, and now I'm not even considering going to that other place if I'm accepted (though if I had applied regular, never got the deferral, and got accepted, I'd probably go). Colleges letting you know they're still interested in you, even if the decision hasn't been made yet, makes a huge difference in the matriculation rate.

FWIW, when I applied in 2010, I applied RD and didn't hear back about that til like March 23rd, then didn't hear about my PA acceptance until April 4th-ish or some ****.

my stats were 4.7w/4.0 uw, 2250 SATs, no business extracurrics but i had held a job for 2.5 years throughout high school.

My year they definitely released the decisions in batches though
