LSA = the college of Literature, Science, and Arts. It is the most popular undergraduate college and covers things from english, to pre-business, to pre-med, to pre-law, to anthropology, to spanish, etc. Try looking under the undergraduate degree programs page.

Chan, many of your pre-requisite courses for Engineering will be taken in LSA. So you will have to at least know a little about it.

calculus ii (lsa)=worst course ever-material isn't hard but ta's are bad teachers and should not be allowed to be primary instructors (calc iii is taught by the professor and is actually pretty good)

WOW, i have a question...what if I got into LAS as chemistry major but want to become a chemical engineer...Im in LAS so would it be hard to change my major to chem engineering or would i have to transfer bw LAS to Engineering/??? NEED HELP ALEXANDRE SOMEBODY! thanks//

If you have good grades, the transfer should not be that difficult. But if your GPA is under 3.5, it may be difficult. You should start by taking several Engineering prerequisits (Calculus II, III, DFQs, LA, Physics, Chemistry etc...) in the college of LSA. After your first year, if your grades hold up, you can apply to the college of Engineering.

thanks for the input...my HS gpa is above 3.5 (3.8 for michigan)..and im panning on taking those courses..so will the transfer to engineering be difficult or will i get priority b/c ive already been accepted to michigan?? thanks

You will definitely be given priority. Do well at Michigan and you can pretty much transfer into any college within the university.
