Ryan Mallett sucks

OK so I know he's a freshman, I know he made 3 touchdown passes ( one of them an outstanding one in fact) and I know there's a steep learning curve especially in big games, but this man just plain freaks out in front of a rushing defence. His passes are out of depth, his calculations are awry and his rushing gets us in trouble more often than not. Not to mention the constant fumbling, sacking, the insane tendency to be intercepted and inability to truly realize the situation. I mean did anyone see what he did when we were down 23-14 and had just won back the ball? First play, an intercepted pass. Bang. There went the hard work.

Let's not be too gentle here, he has enough game time experience and with Henne being in and out he shouldve realized that football matches aren't won with sporadic gems, you have to buckle down, consistently make your plays and be versatile enough to make the big moves when they matter. Unfortunately as promising as Mallett is, he lacks these skills making next season look less promising by every second.

little harsh eh? you're too accustomed to henne. also, you don't make TD passes, you throw them.

i think if he starts throwing accurately and precisely, he'll be amazing senior year. Especially with his throwing speed. He just has to overcome his freshman state... But for now, hes pretty terrible... and cocky

he's a good talent, but he's also is pretty good at blowing it. Let's hope he doesn't get that chance next week.

i still can't comprehend he will be leading michigans offense next year. scary thought from what i've witnessed the past months. either find a player right away, or throw the ball out of bounds if there is pressure, just STOP trying to hold the ball and wait to throw it for a 30 yd pass every time.....because you lack teh skills

Apparently, he's a real prick because someone who lives in his hall told me that if you make eye contact with him or even barely brush into him, he grunts and sticks his chest out at you like some ****ing gorilla.

not to fear...michigans #2 high school qb last year, 4 star prospect steven threet from adiran high school will be competing with mallett. he is legit and could very well be starting. right now he's sitting out this year because he went to ga tech a semester early and transfered out.

I saw him walking out of Village Corner a few weeks ago with my friends and we said something like "Mallett kick some ass!" The guy who he was with thought it was funny and kept telling Mallett to at least acknowledge us, but Mallett didn't look and just kept walking.

As for the game yesterday, it would have been different if Hart and Henne were at full strength. But in the end, it didn't really bother me, because our main objective has been to beat OSU, win the Big Ten, and head to the Rose Bowl. That was in reach no matter what the outcome of yesterday's game. That OSU lost only adds to it. Mike Hart didn't play, so that should put him a little closer to full strength for next week. He was begging Lloyd Carr to get in the game, but it is probably better that he stayed out.

I think that Hart will play for sure, pretty good shot that Henne will too. If that happens, it is going to be a slugfest.

Wow, you serious, I live next door to Threet and his roommate Brandon. I think the latter is a LB but I'm not too sure. All I know he plays NCAA 08 like its his major.

off the top of my head...is it brandon harrell or herron or something? if so, he is a linebacker. ya threet will definitely compete for the starting job with mallett come spring practice.
