I know someone from my school:
3.1 GPA 27 ACT
ACCEPTED
I'm pretty ****ed about it. I don't know how she got recs since she I've never seen someone be so nasty to their teachers.

one of my roommates works in the admissions office, he said the decisions sent out yesterday were pretty much to kids that were pretty clear-cut for being admitted.

Titan, did you actually see the acceptance. I find it hard to believe that a 3.1 student got into Michigan. The dozens of in-state applicants I knew who had sub 3.5 GPAs were all rejected...and that was back in the mid 90s, when Michigan's admissions standards were significantly lower. 3.1 students simply don't get admitted unless they have two or more of the following:
1) They attend a nationally recongized school such as St. Paul or Deerfield
2) Have close to perfect SAT/ACT
3) Have a major hook
4) A very rare background
