Difference in Employablity when graduating with low GPA at high-Alumni-base U's

Does it make any substantial difference in employability if you with
2.0-2.5 GPA in a liberal arts major you graduated from:

U-M
or
Some other high alumni-base U's like OSU, etc.

No, if you graduate with a 2.0 or a 2.5 in a liberal arts field you will not get a job, even if it's Harvard.

If a 2.0 is really the best you could do at Michigan, go to a lesser college.

Why don't you major in something you enjoy?! I keep getting the feeling that you're majoring in the easiest subject possible to try and somehow graduate because you got into a prestigious University. Are you hoping alums will have pity and hire you? Because in this economy, I don't think that'll be the case. I agree with Qwerty...

And, you can then put on your resume that you've been rejected by some of the finest universities in the United States. They might just hire you because you had the balls to apply in the first place.

You WILL get a job if you were at Harvard. So many more strings to pull

Sorry, I think of things in two different ways.

No one will recruit you with a 2.0 or a 2.5 from LSA. You can go out and find a job somewhere, just like someone with a HS diploma or a GED.

I do think you'd be better off going to a lesser college and getting a higher GPA though.

I also think you'd be much better off at a lesser University, not only because you would have a higher GPA, but becasue you'd be able to study something you enjoy instead of the easiest major available (Asian Studies?).
