From what I understand, finance is very mathy, and that's what would be important. Have you looked at or considered this:
UM Mathematics-Actuarial (Note that both Financial Mathematics and Actuarial Mathematics are on that page) Or maybe:
UM Mathematics-UG Math-Sci (Mathematical Economics).
I don't know anything about any of those programs or the sociology one you asked about, but I thought I'd bring them to your attention in case you hadn't heard of them before.
