Move-in day tips?

Mizzou-mom (and anyone else who's been there), do you have any tips for making move-in day go smoothly? Our S is in a FIG, so he's moving in a day early (though I think his dorm has a lot of FIGs, so there will still be a crowd). We have the parking maps and the instructions. We also know it will be hot, but we come from a hot and humid place, so we're prepared. I'm guessing we will get there around 10:00. Moving the mountain of stuff from the car up to the sixth floor of the dorm feels daunting. Reading the rest of CC, I'm beginning to wonder if moms are the only ones who obsess about these things, but so be it.

(Special thanks to mizzou-mom for answering so many of the questions on this thread. I'll try to help you out from now on.)

Geezermom! The only recommendation I have is get there EARLY!!! Elevators are very hard to come by at noon time, so I say get there at 10. Good luck to your son, he must be very excited! My D is getting sad that it is her last year there. PS...he will LOVE being in a FIG! Let us know how it goes!

Thanks. And of course, I look forward to hearing what's in store for your daughter after she has her Mizzou journalism degree.
