Is it worth $70 to apply? (OOS)

So, UNC has been a dream school for a while, and it has everything I look for in a school. It's the only OOS univ I'm applying to and I'm not convinced that I'll get in, and I'd rather not blatantly waste $70. I'm a Senior @ a public school.

Here are my stats:

-UW GPA: 3.8
-W GPA: 4.7
-Rank: 8/407 ~ top 2%
-SAT: 1780 superscore, retaking in Oct (recent prac tests have been very close to 2000)
-SAT II: 730 Span with List.
-AP's: AP Span Lang(5), AP Span Lit(5), AP Eng Lang(3), AP Eng Lit, AP Env Sci.
The majority of my other courses were honors.
-NHS, Spanish Honor Society, Treasurer for Pre-Med Society
- 541 community service hours
- Guide of volunteer program where I volunteered (for about 450 hours)
- AP Scholar (If that means anything...)
- Harvard Book Award (I'm listing it because it's only given to one student in my HS and it's chosen by a teacher)
-URM -->Hispanic
-Good essays
-Biligual
-Good teacher rec.

hmmm...I think that's all.

Obviously my biggest worry is my SAT, because it really doesn't portray my capabilities. I'm studying like a maniac while keeping up with my current APs and classes, so hopefully it improves for October.

Thank you

You'll need to bring your SAT score up to be competitive. Even a 2000 will probably not be good enough for OOS. I'd say take the SAT again and see your score before applying, since $70 is a lot of money.

Also wanted to add that I might be the president of SHS, I'm finding out this upcoming week...

Any input is truly appreciated.

I say absolutely apply especially since you are an URM. I know $70 seems like a lot, but it is not when you consider 4 years of your life and however much you will spend on college. So for your dream school, splurge and do whatever you need to do to pay for the application fee. Good luck!
