I'm so excited for all of you!! It's UNC's self serving Christmas present. It helps getting some of the most qualified candidates feeling good about UNC, so it's a two way street, really.

Start scheduling your visits to tour the campus again, or for the first time!

It's my understanding that they do defer EA. I have read several accounts of people who were deferred on the Early Action deadline and accepted on the regular deadline. Good luck!

has anyone else received an email from the college board after applying to unc asking for an evaluation of the process? The email stated that it was in response to the UNC app

yeah, i didn't do it though. it's just a survey, doesn't factor into admissions at all.

Wow, I got one today. I am so happy and amazed. I ended up coming on here last night and seeing everyone posting about likely letters, so I slept with my UNC stuffed ram for good luck, and I got a letter just now. I'm OOS. Oh my god. I'm in shock!

I haven't gotten one (OOS)

I'm not crying, no. I'm not crying ... it's just been raining ... on my face.

Can someone give me a hug?

I have it from an excellent source that all of you that got these letters have impressed the committee in some special way. It might or might not have that much to do SATs or grades. It could be an outstanding essay, letter of rec, or personal achievement.

Nevertheless, the small subset that have recieved these letters should be very proud. Congratulations to all of you!

Does anyone have an idea of approximately how many letters they sent out?

ny10804, don't sweat it too much. Not everyone gets these likely letters. Like I said, most people who get in don't get a likely letter, only a small percentage do.
