It seems there were many computer "signs" last year that everyone knows about (different tabs on home page, able to create onyen, etc) and I'm sure the adm office would rather those kind of signals not exist. They were probably fixed in anticipation for this year.

seeing that last year most of the decisions were given on the 12th, it seems realistic that tomorrow could be our day.

If we have to wait, then we have to wait, and we will all have bitten fingernails for at least another 11 days

One person on here spoke to an admissions person who said "chapel hill will release decisions late this week" and according to the person I spoke to it would be at 4 tomorrow. The likelihood that both of these people were giving out false information is slim. I have also read places that you are required to be accepted and send in a deposit before you can make on onyen this year. So, it's likely they fixed all the glitches from last year.

How much is the deposit and can you get it differed if you're getting grants/loans?

I'm pretty sure the deposit is $100, either that or $200. I might be mixing it up with the housing deposit.

As DBO said though, I wouldn't be suprised if they fixed all the "glitches" from last year. I'm sure they have someone who browses this site and when they realized there were leaks last year, they patched them up for this year.

I'm black and I received that same Diversity email today at 5:25pm. Edit: The same Diversity team sent me a "Happy Holidays" email with some of the same stuff back in December.

I'm the one who posted that we'd hear "late in the week". Those were the exact words that I was told by one of the admissions directors. I'm fully confident we will know tomorrow. If I'm wrong I'll gladly take the heat for it.

maxk88, have you ever received any emails from the diversity team? It appears myself and lboogie007 have both received stuff from them in the past, so if you never heard from them, it probably just means you weren't in their system for whatever reason.

I don't really think it means anything, probably just coincidence we got the email today.

I'm asian as well and I have never received anything from the diversity team. If I had to guess, I'd say it doesn't mean anything though.

From what I see here it seems as if two hispanics received the email while no other races were contacted. I haven't really browsed the site to see if anyone else has received this email so I'm basing my thoughts on very limited information which leaves a high possibility for me being wrong.
