Admission is about much more than numbers. Give us some more to evaluate.

Well, the EC.s would've been about average, (couple clubs, some awards, 1 from state governor, etc.)

The essays, however, would've been very good, probably some of the best things I've ever written.

I think that you would a good shot if you were in state..but your stats say that you're from California..?

Out of state is much, much more competitive. The numbers sound good...but the ranking isn't anything spectacular, which hopefully won't carry too much of a weight anyways.
I think.

i think you have a good chance of getting in if you pull that SAT I up a little bit. the rank going up a few probably wouldnt hurt either.

however, don't rely too much on your stats...they definitely base their admission on MUCH more than stats alone. I had 2300 SAT, 3.9 GPA, a crapload of ECs (president of 3 clubs, national sci competition, etc), and while i got admission to some of the best ivies/private schools,i didnt get a nod to UNC's honors program or anything. also, a lot of my friends didnt even get admission, who i thought had a lock on it. so dont be surprised if you get deferred/denied...its happened to a lot of people who didnt expect it. I think the reason is that most people underestimate UNC...especially here in north carolina, so they usually make it a backup. thats a mistake. make sure the rest of your application is perfect.

NEVERTHELESS IM GOING TO CAROLINA NEXT YEAR WOOOO

I got in with a 3.3 GPA from out of state. That should tell you that they don't base admission solely off of numbers...
