Cloying can give all you north campus kids better advice than I can since I'll be new to north campus this year.

Craige north/horton/koury/hardin are definitely something to not be disappointed with! They're in a south campus location so you'll be around a lot of freshmen, but the rooms are nicer and there's only 4 people to a bathroom.

I'm in Connor, too. It wasn't even on my list of choices, but the location looks really good (I wanted North Campus and Honors roommate), it's air conditioned, and the floor plan seems a decent size, so I can't really complain. Anyone else headed to CTOPS on Thursday? See you there!

heathergee, what did you mean "there's only 4 people to a bathroom"? I will live in Craige North and do you mean that all our 4 people will shower one by one or together in a big bathroom?

She means you'll share one shower.

Grimes is great! One of my best friends lives there. You are extremely close to classes, the gym, and Lenoir. Plus your community is a fun one. They have barbecues all the time.

Connor is in a great location, too - the tennis courts are right behind you, you're right beside the gym, and right across from the Student Union and library.

For everyone except in the Kenan Community or Old East/West on North - you have tile floors, and that's gross. You need to get a rug. Even people in the Kenan Community should think about getting a rug. It's crazy how dirty your feet will get!

There is no difference between standard and open visitation. I had 'standard' visitation but it means NOTHING. No one will ever even say anything about it. It just isn't an issue ever.

Aycock is an all girls dorms - but, hey, I was really disappointed when I found out I was in an all girls dorm, even if it was Kenan. Turns out, I'm really glad I was in it. It means I can lounge around in gym clothes in the lobby and not care, and I absolutely loved the girls on my floor. I wouldn't have lived anywhere else. And what you'll find is that in dorms where guys are on one floor and girls another, is that there really isn't that much interaction between floors. Unless your really good friend is on a different floor, during the week people just don't really explore the other floors. I kind of wish they did, but it's just a human nature thing.

First I was assigned to Ehaus with no A/C, so I went to the housing office and they put my roomie and I in Horton. Roomie is trying to get us onto North Campus!

Horton is fun. The basketball players live in the basement floor and that is a pretty big deal. A lot of my friends lived in Horton last year. The rooms are pretty nice and air conditioned. You have only two rooms to a suite so there's less people using a bathroom but you have to clean your own. You're really close to the Smith Center (where the basketball games are) and they just put a bus stop right in front of Horton.

Last year most of the honors first years were in Cobb. The doors don't stay open so a lot of people break their doors to make socializing easier.

Aside from that, though, Cobb is known as one of the really social north campus dorms - their common space is the bomb. It's right near the forest theater and tennis courts, too, if you're interested. I like Cobb a lot.

I have a few friends that lived in Cobb (and are staying for next year) and they are certainly not reserved socially.
