Chance me...

I am a hispanic male from Texas. I just finished my freshman year at UTSA with a 3.32 GPA and 35 hours. I got into University of Texas but I have always wanted to go to the UNC. I realized that I could do much better in school than I did and would like to my chances on getting into UNC from UTSA.

If I were to make a 4.0/3.8 both semesters that would be put me at a 3.6+. On top of that I am a minority students and was asked to be supplemental instructor for UTSA in sociology. In high school I was not a very strong student but had tons of extracurriculars (class president, discipline council, all state lacrosse/wrestling, captain of wrestling and lacrosse, MVP..etc). My SAT was not great 1160/1600. Any advice would be great. Thanks a lot.

I'm not so sure that UNC is a good choice for your situation. UNC is a state school and so being, it is EXTREMELY selective when admitting OOS. Good luck on whatever you decide though.

being a minority does make a BIG factor in the admissions process.

Being OOS has nothing to do with transfer students. Residency is not considered (only for tuition amount).

I would say stay where you're at for the 2 semesters and get your gpa over a 3.5 and you'll have a good chance.
