Wow screw morehead...stupid scholarship; I'm too good for that PoS anyway. What a waste of my time. That was the only thing that made me waste $70 to apply EA to UNC. Now, I'll just focus on Ivies.

Great attitude SwaGGeReR, I'm sure no one will begrudge you for not wanting to go to UNC.

I am guessing that somehow the attitude you are displaying here came across in your application. They are VERY good at determining who is a good candidate for the scholarship when it comes to reading applications.

Many who actually become finalists for the Morehead and don't win end up at Ivies.....it is a tougher ticket to punch than Ivy admission. Good luck with the rest of your apps.

Swagger, i'm pretty sure the students who applied EA won't have heard if they were nominated for the morehead by oct. 31st, mainly because the EA deadline wasn't until nov. 2nd. you still have a shot

Just found out decisions are Dec. 4...NOT Oct. 31.

For semifinalist you should have already heard. You hear if you got finalist on the 2nd. At least for out of state...

Semifinalist notification:

OOS is Oct. 31.
In-state is Dec. 4.

Not sure why the large disparity...

The reason for the disparity is that there are a lot more in state candidates than there are those from OOS. They all get the same review process and vetting before advancing to semifinalist stage. It's simply just a matter of time needed to process and review all the applications.
