I'd appreciate any input.

I'm an in-state white female. I attend a very small school (graduating class of 15) and I'm in the first graduating class. It is an arts magnet school and I major in orchestra.

GPA: 3.5/4.25, 7 APs and all possible honors, but I got a D in an online Latin course over the summer (YUCK!) which was a huge mistake. I already asked about retaking it. nope.

SAT: 2120; 740m, 630cr (will improve), 750ws.

ECs: Treasurer of Beta Club, Chief Copy Editor of writing club, key club, student leadership, spirit week committee, yearbook club. that's all but two of the clubs at my school.

Awards: 2 poetry awards, poet laureate of my school, all-state orchestra, all-county orchestra, national merit recommended to UNC, nominated for Park Scholarship at State, nominated for gov school twice (did not get in. hmph), played violin in school every day since 6th grade.

I have 8 or 9 family members (no parents/siblings) who went to UNC, one who used to have some real pull in admissions but quit. rats. I don't know if these ties will help or not as an instate applicant.

I am also applying to Carolina for the Thomas Wolfe Scholarship (for creative writing). Will that look good for my general admissions too?

I have two great recommendations (plus three for the scholarship) and good essays.

I'm SO pumped to go to Carolina (I picked my dorm already. too ambitious?). I really need either some reassurance that I can get in or a reality check so I won't get my hopes up. Thanks for any help.
