So who has applied ED for the class of '14?

Since today is the cut off date, I am curious what other seniors have applied ED for UNC this year. I have applied I am in-state all of my stats are on par with UNC except my SAT math so I am pretty sure I am going to be rejected. I won't know unless I try though, right?

So who else has applied ED? We can all wait together.

I did. OOS. ACT is well above middle 50% but GPA is below. We'll see! When do we hear back?

Your SAT Math score not being on par with UNC's won't get you rejected. The in-state kids have such an easier time than the out of staters, so you should be fine if everything else matches up. I've heard that Chapel Hill places more emphasis on essays anyway.

BTW, did anyone here apply for the Morehead Cain Scholarship, or any other scholarships?

I did, but that was in 1980. I remember the interview, which I totally bombed. Not much help, I know, but since your question was in past tense, I couldn't resist.

It's still relevant. It's such a great scholarship to get. I'd give up acceptances to Ivies to be a Morehead Cain Scholar.

Oh my God, I just freaked out thinking that I accidentally applied ED rather EA.

Be happy you all got it in for Early Action.

UNC's dirty little secret is that their early action acceptance rate is 20% higher than their regular decision.

@Ryan: Which is largely due to the fact that the stronger students apply early action. The official line is that there is no difference between the two except when one is notified. Of course another official line is that they don't have a quota system for NC Counties, which from all accounts that I have heard they do.

I applied EA. I'm OOS with GPA .01 below UNC's average, SAT's average to above, and 8-relative legacy. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I've heard that other NC public colleges have quotas, mainly for how many people they can take that live in the same county as the school. But other than that, I would think that UNC doesn't have a quota system.
