Thanks for the reminders ND parents. As an ND hopful parent it's hard to watch to see if your kids dreams come true. My daughter made sure to make personal contact I hope it makes a difference. You guys help this process and I appreciate it

I know most of this thread's readers are concerned high school juniors and seniors. Know that you have my empathy. The college process is by no means ideal. People don't always get what they deserve. But I think ND runs an incredible institution and that its admissions departments is one of the best. They will usually reply to emails within one to two days. They are upfront about their admissions policies. They do not have any OVERBLOWN, politically correct quota system. Legacies still need the academic prowess to gain admittance. I know an applicant from last year whose father was on the football team...with a strong application...but got denied.

Just keep the faith and know that it will work out if it should - even if that has to mean transferring in.

Current freshman...

1440 (low, i know!)
No legacy
4.0 / 94 / 100
Big ND Feeder (11 for class of 2010)
Editor-in-chief, newspaper
Marching Band
NHS, sNHS
Homeroom Leader
Community service - tutoring, etc.

I think my essay was the deciding factor. If you feel like you are behind the curve, make sure that essay is top notch. There is hope for the sub-1500 scorers, no doubt - that included me!

Come on. How can you say that 1440 is low?

That's definitely above average.

I'm at 1300 right now. I'm hoping my October score raised it a bit.

I'm basically going to gamble on ACT.
