Extra letter of recommendation?

Hi - I'm new to this forum and have been reading thru the threads. I have a question about the letters of recommendation - it looks like they only want one from a teacher plus comments from your counselor? I am applying for regular decision since my stats are good but not stellar ( 3.97 UW GPA/30 ACT / rank=12th /250).
Since ND is a catholic university, how important is that in admissions? My church youth group counselor has written an awesome letter for me for other schools which I feel is one of my more important ECs. Will they ignore an extra letter if I include it??

You can E-mail admissions, but as far as I know, they do not want anymore than what they list on the app and they will ignore it (and it may even hurt you from what I've heard)

just chill and wait for "irish" to respond lol
