That sounds right, and it is two. You can always give out my other email if you wish (I just don't check it quite as much but I still check it daily) or if you are curious you always can email me and I will write back. Is the person you know from Miami of Ohio in my year? If so I am almost positive that I know him. If not, well, then I probably don't.

Yes, you know him. I'll email you so we get off this thread. Thanks for posting the detailed information on transferring - hopefully none of the kids on here will need it! But if they do you've given them great detail on the process. If anyone else has any questions for Irish go ahead and keep posting them. We didn't mean to hijack this thread.

This is just like what happened in Rudy:
Heres my 2 cents "Steele: RUDY Are you ready champ?
Rudy: I've been ready for this my whole life.
Steele: Then you take us out on the field."
and some more insight "No one, and I mean no one, comes into our house and pushes us around."
And ill close with "That semester at junior college sure didn't make you any smarter."

My friends mom works in transfer admissions at Notre Dame, and he said that she told him they get so many applications from HC, only the best are accepted. This sorta reiterates everything, but I also have a friend trying this, so when i hear if he made it, I'll let everyone know.

Yeah, a lot depends if you are a legacy/donor/minority. But you're going to need around a 3.9 to come from Holy Cross I think. I transferred in from the University of Pittsburgh and I had a 4.0. The higher the better.

if you actually want a better chance of getting to notre dame and not wasting money on a dump dont go to holy cross go to another school, you will have a much better shot at transfering from a good college instead of this place... the administration is a joke, class selection is horrible, the dining hall serves disgusting food( i bet my dog food tastes better), the library is the smallest ever.. there are a bunch of born again christians shouting there pro life agenda across campus, a bunch of jokes as RA's, and the proximity to Notre Dame is the only and i stress only positive.. dont be a fool like me, dont ever go to this college.

It should be stated that this thread is over two years old, so it isn't worth much anymore. It just happens to be pinned to the top of the forum.
As for Holy Cross, I think it is decent depending on what kind of student you are. If you are more the community college type, it may be a great fit, especially since they are moving over to a 4-year plan. If you are wanting to transfer to ND, I agree, it is not ideal. That being said, I do know several HC transfers at ND.

I think they said on the campus tour not to go to Holy Cross to try to get into ND. The reasoning (as someone i think previously stated) is that there are so many kids that apply to ND from Holy Cross every year, that it actually makes it harder to get in. They just can't let in every kid from Holy Cross that applies. It would be better to be the only kid (or one of few) applying from some other reputable school not in South Bend. Good luck!

It should be noted that this Holy Cross College is not to be confused with College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts. Holy Cross in Notre Dame has less than 500 students and has a low selectivity rating of 59 per Princeton Review.
Holy Cross in Massachusetts has 2800 students and has a selectvity rating of 95. The Holy Cross in Mass is the only Catholic college in the top 50 of the USNews Rankings for Liberal Arts Colleges.

FYI for anyone considering taking this route; we have a new transfer counselor at Notre Dame who was left with a piece of advice from the previous counselor to be particularly particular with Holy Cross College applicants as they are learning more and more about the very low standards there.
