I'm being recruited to play football at a few Ivy league schools, i dont know if this helps my chances at ND or not.

I know my scores are low but i am retaking them and hoping for at least a 1300 SAT and 30 ACT.

If you get your scores up, I'd say you've got a good shot. If you got your ACT up to around a 31-32, I wouldn't even send in your SAT scores unless they're in the upper 1300s.

Thanks for the advice, i'll keep that in mind. Do you or anyone else know is ND takes the best of several ACT subscores and then create a composite score? Or do you have to get a 31-32 composite on the test?

With ACT it is all about the composite (unfortunately). I had a 29 after taking it twice but if I had combined subscores I would have had a 34....it makes no sense, lol. That would have helped but I transferred in so it all came out in a wash at the end.

That is how you have to look at it. If you don't get in it is a difficult process, transferring always is, but it is so worth it! If you are trying to get to the right school and you have a good reason to transfer it is always worth it. I will be honest with you, while I hope you don't have to take the path I took I also wouldn't change a thing. I learned so much from my experience and met so many more great people that I would never go back. Creighton will always hold a special place in my heart. While everything went wrong for me my senior year, it worked out perfectly in the end. I am sure it will be the same for you, just keep fighting for it and you will be a Fighting Irish. Good luck!

You have great ECs, and as much as I love ND... don't be too bothered if you don't get in. Being a recruited athlete at an Ivy league school is an awesome thing. You get to play sports at a college level and get a world-renound education at the same time. It's just a win-win for you.... as great of a school as Notre Dame is... you have some sweet options in line. The only thing I'd really say is see if you can get that ACT up. Good luck man

your really border line... your class rank and SAT are both below the mean... so you really need to hope your essays/recs help you a lot. Your EC's look solid, so that's good.

You are basically where I was sitting (though my scores were a bit stronger). I was a 3 year letterman in swimming (recruited a bit D-III but nothing big) with a very strong leadership resume, it was by far my strength and really what made me stand out. I was rejected EA and ended up getting here through transferring. I think you have a shot, but I definately think it is an uphill battle. Get the grades up as much as you can, retake the tests, get a good essay and pray, that is all you can do. Getting into ND is crazy, there are people that get in that shouldn't and those who don't who should. Just know that whatever happens happens for the best and no matter what you can always go the transfer route, I should know. Why am I being so cryptic? I will just fill this in as well as I can remember and hopefully it will help you compare. Remember though that admissions is a dynamic process, it is hard to know what got you in or what kept you out.

Accepted as a transfer to ND and BC, attend ND

Whatever you do don't let all of this bum you out, I know I let it bum me out. I have friends that have my stats and lower that got into ND so you just can't ever tell. The main thing is that you know that if you really want to be here, you will be (even if you get a C in Calc and only have a 3.1 your first semester of college). Don't give up if it doesn't happen the first time around, and enjoy it if it doesn't. I enjoyed being at Creighton and I had a great scholarship to boot (I really miss that). Remember, if you do end up transferring you still get the same ND degree, you just pay less for it!

Hopefully you weren't being sarcastic, I am not sure, but I do hope I helped. All I know is that ND admissions are really tough right now but they do take their time with every application and everyone gets looked at by more than one person. Essay is key, a really good essay could carry almost anyone in. Just keep the faith, keep up the good work, and never give up! Let me know if I can help in any way!
