I was accepted EA to Notre Dame and RD to Duke. I absolutely love the atmosphere and community of ND . . . it felt like home to me. However, I plan on going into the medical profession and people have been telling me Duke is the place to go. I was completely set on going to ND, but now I'm starting to feel like I would miss an opportunity by not going to Duke. Does anyone have any advice for me?

I don't know anything about the medical programs at either but you'll be at a great place wherever you choose. That is a great accomplishment getting into these two great schools and congratulations!

Congratulations on getting into two such prestigious schools! A friend of mine is actually facing the same dilema; he plans on attending medical school and got into both Duke and ND. From what he has told me he is leaning towards Duke because he thinks it is a better fit for a future in medicine, he thought that Duke had better opportunities. But, this was mostly just his opinion ... I don't think you can make a wrong decision, both schools are amazing, choose where you felt most at home!

I would recommend pm'ing PrincessND; she just graduated from ND and is currently enrolled in med school. She'll have the answers you need.

Wow! congrats on both ND and Duke. Obviously I'm more biased towards Notre Dame but both seem like fantastic schools!

Have you visited Duke and spent time there?

I have not visited Duke, but from what I have read, there is a distinctly different atmosphere there compared to ND.

Do you like the single sex dorms at ND, and the religious atmosphere at ND?

If you haven't visited Durham, a visit is in order !

Of course, I would choose ND.. but thats just me

If you felt like home at ND, id go there

you aren't going to receive a better education at Duke, and not necessarily a better one at ND

Go where you feel the best.

Thanks for that link Tim! And thanks everyone for your input! I have not visited Duke yet, but plan to soon. I doubt that any school's atmosphere can compare to ND's though.

SouthMom- I do like both the single sex dorms and the religious atmosphere, although I am not extremely religious I can still sense the serenity and spirituality there.
