Double Major vs. Dual Degree

I know that for a dual degree, you have to complete the requirements for both colleges and the University requirements and for a double major you have a primary major and then a secondary one. What are other differences between the two? When you go to look for a job, will it matter which one you have?

You basically get two diplomas with a dual degree and one with a double major.

So it really doesn't matter either way?

Imagine you were an employer. Dual Degree basically means you went through college twice. Which is more impressive?

So I'm assuming dual degree takes a lot longer to complete?

It is usually impossible to do in the standard 4 years/8 semesters. Most people do it in 5 years, although it's possible to do in 4 if you take summer classes more than 1 summer.

It's also possible if you come in with enough AP credit or overload for a few semesters. I came in with 20 hours of AP credit (well, I have 23, but 3 of them aren't eligible for degree credit) and am taking 8 credit hours this summer and am graduating with a dual degree in four years.
