yort, Private Message me... i can tell ya i was a little skeptical about being placed in Duncan (i wanted something with a lot of tradition- like Alumni) but I know everyone in Duncan is working hard to build our own tradition and it sure doesn't suck having the best living accommodations on campus.... but yeah, i'll answer any other questions u have if u private message me

I lived in Keough for two semesters. The hall spirit is awesome and the rooms are nice and spacious. It can sort of feel and look like a hotel after a while but it definitely has its charm. And as hawkswim said, you definitely are in a good location.

I'm an incoming Freshman and am up on the 3rd floor in Duncan. How large are the standard double rooms?

Also. How is the Duncan Soccer Team?

If you mean from Carroll to the Main Building, it is probably just under a ten minute walk.

A bike will definitely come in handy on trips to the library, Jordan Hall, and DeBartolo Hall which is where most of your classes will be.

I live in Carroll, it's really not too far. Consider that at any state uni, Carroll would be considered very close - that'll give you some perspective when people agonize over how terrible it must be to walk an extra five minutes each way. But anyway, there's about 100 guys in the dorm, it's the smallest on campus so you'll know just about everyone within a couple months. Rooms are larger than most, with very tall ceilings. 4 floors, has its own sand volleyball and basketball courts. A bike can be helpful for sure - I never got around to getting one though and I managed fine...but in reference to one of the above comments, you would never ride a bike to a football game anyway.

^ya, that would not be a good idea (by the way, they were two separate comments though - sorry for any confusion)

hey sembrian,

im gonna be a sophomore on the 3rd floor... PM me with your room number to see if were in the same section up there... im not sure of dimensions, but double rooms are definitely a decent size, and way bigger than on the rest of campus... youll be plenty comfortable...

duncan soccer is on the rise, we have some good talent... i can give ya the names of a couple of my good friends in the dorm who are some of the better players on the team from what i hear, and introduce you when were on campus

GO HIGHLANDERS

S is a rising sophomore and a Carroll Hall vermin! Carroll is a GREAT dorm - more like a big house than a dorm actually. Huge yard for volleyball, football, frisbee, slip n slide! Lakeside resort with a great view of the Golden Dome. Far Quad as it is sometimes called really isn't that far, but would suggest a bike unless you're an early riser for am classes. Recall the huge GO IRISH bnner in the brochures? That is a Carroll Hall tradition on football weekends. Camaraderie is strong at Carroll Hall. Consider yourself lucky if you get assigned to Carroll!

all dorms have the +'s and -'s, yet each dorm thinks they are the best. No dorm is awful, plus your at Notre Dame anyways.
