Anybody have an opinion on Stanford Hall? I don't really know anything about it

Stanford is the northernmost dorm on campus. It is right next to North Dining Hall and is next to one of the lakes. It shares a building with Keenan so some like to think of it as a super dorm. You will share a chapel and some doors with Keenan but that is about it. The rooms are not very large and I think you have modular furniture. The architecture of the building is also kind of plain but it's a fine dorm.

how about o'neill dorm?? is it known for anything??

O'Neill is a relatively new dorm on the south side of campus. It is behind South Dining Hall and isn't too far away from Debartolo Hall. You are also pretty close to the bookstore. It's a nice dorm but I can't think of any of their signature events off the top of my head.

Let's see. I know a bit about Fisher. They have an awesome regatta on the lake toward the end of the school year that is a lot of fun to watch. Fisher is located right next to the South Dining Hall. I think they have a lot of triples in Fisher. It is an aging dorm and there a lot of rumors on campus that Fisher's water is tainted. These are just rumors and there is probably zero truth to them. It also gets pretty hot in Fisher seeing as there is no AC in the rooms.

Welsh Hall is located on the same quad as Keough and O'Neill. It is a short walk away from the bookstore and is one of the closest dorms to the Law School, Debartolo Hall, and the Engineering building. As far as classes go it is really in a solid location. I lived in Keough for a while which has the same architecture/construction. They are nice rooms and are a bit bigger than most on campus.

I don't know much about Pasquerilla East. You are on the far eastern side of campus and are near the library. You are not too far away from North Dining Hall. A bonus about PE is that your are right next to the D2 parking lot which is definitely a bonus in the cold weather. The dorm is also fairly new and has AC.

Pretty much the same deal as Stanford (see above). I think they have a bit more hall spirit than Stanford though. They host a pretty good variety show. As far as location goes it is pretty good.

Does Zahm still have an Animal House repuation and as the dorm where less studious students end up?

All dorm assignments are made irrespective of high school academic performance. So the people who end up at Zahm have just as equal a shot of ending up elsewhere. I lived in Zahm for a couple years and had a love hate relationship with the place. Yes, Zahm loves to nurture the animal house atmosphere. It is nowhere near what Hollywood made Animal House look like but it is definitely one of the more rowdy/spirited dorms on campus. I loved the close friendships that developed in the dorm. People were generally friendly to one another. Unfortunately a lot of people in the dorm developed obnoxious and idiotic egos that were put on full display at dorm functions and rallies. I found that as individuals Zahm residents were awesome, but in groups they turned into totally different people.

At orientation they have you do stupid things that involve fountains and paint. This is all voluntary so if you are a rising freshman and do not want to participate in any of it you do not have to. But Zahm does do some real special things. They do a real classy event during orientation that is sort of secret. They are also extremely involved in the community and youth organizations.

At the end of the day everything about Zahm is sort of different. You can treat it like an apartment and you will be fine or you can treat it like a frat house and you will probably have a spirited college experience.
