Changing Classes

I sent in my course selection form in June and know I can't switch classes till arriving on campus. How difficult is it to change your classes once you get there? Am I gonna have a really hard time? thanks for the help!

I am not sure if you will be able to use InsideND to change classes or if you have to visit your advisor in person to change classes. Either way, I would suggest you contact your advisor now and let him/her know what you want to change. I tend to doubt they would give you a hard time especially if you get the ball rolling now.

It would depend on what classes you are looking to add. A lot of intro level classes generally aren't too hard to get into since a ton of students have to take them. What I would suggest doing is going onto insideND once you have access and check to see if there are any sections of the classes that are not maxed out. Once you have the class sections that you want to add picked out, write down the CRNs (course registration numbers) and bring them with you to your orientation stuff. There is a day where you meet with your FYS guidance counselor and you can discuss it then. I'm pretty sure there are quite a few people who do schedule changes before classes start up, so I wouldn't worry. I remember finding out who my guidance counselor was over the summer and I was able to email him with some of my scheduling concerns. It might be helpful to let yours know that you plan on making changes, if possible, and to ask if they have any advice for getting that taken care of.

I would actually not email your counselor now-last year at orientation they told us a specific date and time after which we could try to meet with them and make schedule changes. No requests before then would be honored.

Have you already gotten your schedule? I thought that they come out during the first week of August.
And there will be a Schedule Adjustment Day (SAD) on Aug 24th after we get there and talk with our advisers.

You may want to wait until you get them August 1st. If you have problems, just let your advisor know you have some issues, but don't go into detail unless your advisor wants you to because there is nothing he can do until August 24th.

you will be getting emails from your advisers pretty soon...don't worry about a bad schedule. i had a horrible one last year but i managed to change half of my classes.
it's usually easy to change classes, just check on inside ND and make an appointment with your adviser or go to walk-in hours in the first several days.u'd better meet him/her as soon as possible if you want to get into a good class. also, you can check on NDTODAY.COM to see how past students evaluate the professors.
i don't think freshman or transfer can change classes on inside ND
