Already applied, even though I'm not expecting an acceptance letter, it's worth it to at least hear by Christmas.

If you were accepted though, it would be a nice Christmas present |

My son is applying, and I think he has a shot. Called to confirm that his application is complete, and now the waiting game begins. He's done his part in terms of the application, and is now buried in his Senior year studies, while I act as his application secretary (and soon to be treasurer). Good luck to all.

i meant acting as his secretary, shouldn't he be taking care of that?
oh, and i totally respect everyone on cc and all of the diversity it brings from any age group so didn't mean to send that message... just stay off here if you're still in middle school, seriously

When are early decisions supposed to come out? Christmas? Is there any chance they'd mail them in November?? I'm SUPER anxious to find out.

Around December 15. I cannot wait! I wonder if the applicant pool will increase this year.

LittleMikey, honestly, I have no clue what you're talking about. He's got more important things to deal with, and has no interest in bantering on these boards. I'm investigating CC to help him. You've been scouring these boards since early in your junior year, I believe. Get a life. You've been all over the Ivy boards for over a year with an ACT of 32...really. Trust me when I say they're a reach for you, and given the immaturity you've shown in questioning a parent's involvement in his son's academic career, I'm thinking you wouldn't be an asset to any campus you might get admitted to. I'm here to gleen information that might help him further his academic career, and I fervently hope he gets admitted to Notre Dame, which I admit is a reach for him, but it's an institution that represents the highest ideals of an academy of higher education tempered with the wisdom that will allow that knowledge the context to actually help this troubled world.
He's applied elsewhere, and everywhere he's applied, the applications he's submitted are his work, but trust me when I say that if he were admitted to Notre Dame, I would be ecstatic. It's his first choice, and a financial burden that I might not be able to handle, but I owe him the benefit of at least trying to get in here. He's got too much to give, and too much to learn from the other lucky few who make it here.
Your "total respect for everyone" as an afterthought just doesn't hold water. Enough said. And again, good luck to everyone...even you Mikey.

I applied about a month ago. Good Luck to all!
I just would love to find out where I am going (whereever that may be, but hopefully ND) so I can relax.
Also, if you get accepted for early action, your first semester grades are not looked at.
This will put off pressure so that you don't have to get perfect grades, just as long you don't take a huge dip down.

Guys, this is a board for learning more about colleges. There's no need to get nasty and attack one another. That's not what this is for.

I agree with SKE4892. Grow up people.
Anyway, I'm also applying EA at ND! I just visited my cousins at ND over the USC game weekend, and it was a lot of fun. It will be awesome to know before Christmas!

I've been doing all my own apps and would love it if my mom stepped in to help! That being said, almost every kid I know whose parents are "assisting" in the application process are also pressuring their kids to attend places that are definitely not good fits for them.
Littlemikey4, I too hold a 32 and am hoping Ivy in addition to ND, so best of luck.

Is there a way to check the status, see if they have recommendations, GC forms, etc.
