I am applying to Upenn, I was just wondering how much admissions looks at connections. Such as: my dad was a professor and head of the board of one of the medical departments for ten years until 1992. Since then my family has not had any major affiliation with the school. What do you guys think?
Well, it wont hurt you but I don't think something like that would help much. All it really indicates is that you know a lot about the school from your dad.
