Find a professor online that has done research on something you think sounds interesting. You answer will only be about three sentences long, so you can't really be creative. Just say "I would like to study ___ with Professor ___ blah blah blah" and say why.

For the essay, it's really a personal thing. Why do you love Penn? Brainstorm. Make a list of why you want to go there. Then organize it into an essay. You can really approach it any way you want. Mine was sort of rambling. I wrote about the academic programs I want to be involved in and what I liked it about it when I visited- location, student body, etc. Some people write the essay as if they were a student there, describing one of their days. Try to show how your interest in Penn relates to who you are and what you've already done. Good luck!

If you can't write these essays, don't apply. It may be your subconscious telling yourself that you do not want to go to Penn.
