I applied for the Hunstman program in Upenn .

Sat 1 : 2290 (800 CR, 750 M , 740 W)
Sat 2: 800 in math 2 and chemistry, 760 in physics
Toefl IBT: 114/120
in my class : top 10 , they don't give ranks, but its just a good approximation
10th Board exams, which are quite a big deal aroud here - 93%

1. i also got through the national Talent Search exam (ntse)the most prestigious scholarship in the country, got 16th rank in the state!
2. Then, the university of New South Wales conducted an exam. I got first rank internationally and the gold medal.
3. I got accepted for the A*star singapore scholarship
In the national cyber oylmpiad, i got rank 3 in the state
4. participated in the state and zonal software development competition
5. Also received rank 2 in the school in the assessment through grades 8, 9 and 10.

ECs :

1. Bharatnatyam, which is like a superdifficult classical dance. trained for 6 years
Did an arangetram which is like an hour and a half long solo performance and over 500 people were watching
Plus, i performed on national television once and did many shows in the city and in school.
Also done salsa and jive

i sent an arts supplement with a video of my arangetram and another dance i did in my school silver jubilee finale! I was dressed as a guy.. so it depicted contrasting styles very well i'd say.. and i put in my dance resume and recommendation letter from my dance teacher.

I've done like 5-7 shows around the city in the past 6 years i think..

2. Theatre. In my school i've been in the school theatre group since 8th grade

and we've won these 2 fests, the biggest ones in the city consistenly every year. 8thh, 10th, 11th and 12th. and in the 12th grade i was female lead, i wrote the script and co-directed the play.. so that's quite a big deal

3. literary.. Editor of School magazine one year, won like 10-11 competitions in inter-school fests like Dumb Charades, Creative Writing and what's the good word stuff..

4. Sports

In the inter-house basketball team for 2 years and we came first once and third once
in the inter-house throwball team for 3 years, came third twice.
Came third in inter-house relay
Came third in 600m run/sprint whatever its called.


Also do fashion design, won first place in a fashion designing competition in a national fest

and some personality stuff ..

Leadership:

President of Literary Association
President of Earth Science association
Captain of the Throwball team <of my house .. the harry potter house system works here too, one of the throwbacks of colonization>

Community Service

Did a play with slum childrem and made pens, shirts etc and sold them as a fund raiser

Work Ex

Worked in an online tutoring company teaching a girl in the UK for a month.

Also, my essays are quite good cuz i write particularly well. Wrote about my arangetram and what the experience was like. I think it was good. One of my seniors said its one of the best he's read so far so that's gotta mean something

Plus, our school is one of the top5 in the country. National Public School.

my teacher recommendations were awesome, its evident that they really like me etc

I applied to Harvard, Yale, princeton, Upenn, Dartmouth.

So that's the status. Also i did NOT apply for financial aid.
