^^ check the collegeboard site. they're making a new policy where you can actually choose which testing date scores to send to colleges.

rd31, that policy begins in March for the class of '10. also, if you want a superscore you would have to send in multiple scores anyway. i can see the threads now.. "should i send in this score since it improves my superscore by 20 points or not??!?!"

lol most of the cc threads are ridiculous; people are freaking out over nothing, and people with their 50+ international awards on chance threads are just making things worse for everyone. Just do your best, and see what happens. If you don't happen to get into your first choice school, it wasn't meant to be.

"Chance me!"
"Am i good enough for stanford?"
"SAT help!!"

this question is directed towards kQI- "I was a mere 1870 and I got in... you're fine"- how? not to be mean but i have terrible scores and right now i pretty much think my chances are 0-.2%. What did you do to balance that?

Well I'm in a similar boat here... I have a 2160 overall, and have taken the test three times (800 CR, 690 M, 670 W superscored). I'm considering taking it for a fourth, final time in December because I know I can raise my math and writing scores and that it will just require studying and practice. Would it be worth it for me to retake, or should I avoid the possible 4-time stigma that Bescraze mentioned?

As to the original poster, I would say go for the second time if you know you can improve.

Pyelot, HOW do you get an 800 in CR?
Howhowhow? Haha. I think I'm going to do like 6 million critical reading sections this summer and then give it another try in October. :|

Don't worry about it. I know many people who didn't even score in the same range as you who got into Penn.

I applied ED (and was accepted into CAS) with a score of 2160 (700 M/720 CR/740 W). I decided not to take the test again since I had broken the 700 barrier in all 3 sections. I did, however, spend a lot of time working on (and reworking!) my essays.

I didn't think that my acceptance would hinge on my SAT scores but rather on the strength of my application as a whole. In other words, if I hadn't been accepted, I wouldn't have blamed my SAT scores.
